Scarba is not the longest circumnavigation, in fact it is the shortest circumnavigation on the PSK list, but it is still something of a challenge. Tidal planning and research are essential as the south side of the island borders the infamous Gulf of Corryvreckan, with the 'not to be overlooked' Grey Dogs tide race at the north side too. All combined with a paddle in as well, and Scarba gets its own page.

This stretch of the Admiralty Chart carries more symbology than most. To quote from the chart: "Streams setting through the Gulf of Corryvreckan are very dangerous."
You don't want to end up here with the water going the wrong way.

Many have paddled this one, we just don't have all the times.
