Guarding the entrance to the Firth of Clyde, the Isle of Bute provides an island destination which is easily accessible to many but gives a more remote feel. Bute also offers relative shelter and a short circular route for those looking to hone their circumnavigation planning skills. Bute is unsurprisingly a regular circumnavigation destination, though we only have limited data, let us know about your lap!

Brian Turnbull (09-Jun-13)
From Brian: "It would have been a shame to waste this settled spell so I went for a bit of a jolly over to Bute at the weekend and had a go a getting round it fairly quickly. I couldn't help being distracted by the big mountains of Arran as I paddled up the left side of Bute, might have to go back over and take a closer look at that one..."
